Our art competition for September was the 5th Annual “SeaScapes” and 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s October 2015 online group art exhibition.  The “SeaScapes” theme   was considered to be any art with the subjects being scenes of coastal living, any ocean activities, seaside vistas and any related seashore subjects for inclusion into this art exhibition.

The Guest Judge for this competition is Mallory Whitfield.  She began her journey as a creative entrepreneur in 2004, selling her handmade creations at local craft shows. She has written an e-book about how to make money at craft shows from what she learned during 10+ years of selling at craft shows. Mallory has been blogging at Miss Malaprop since 2006. She offers creative strategy & coaching sessions for solopreneurs and indie business owners on topics including blogging, SEO (search engine optimization), WordPress, affiliate marketing, social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest), email marketing and more.  www.missmalaprop.com

Here are Mallory’s thoughts on the entries, “It was hard to pick a winner, as there was such a diverse range of artistic styles. But it was so much fun to look through the submissions and see how differently each artist interpreted the theme of SeaScapes. The theme really resonated with me — I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and I always feel at home when I’m near the water. All of the entries were beautiful representations of the sea. The participants should all feel very proud of their work!”

This art competition and the submission process and competition for the artists began in August 2015 and concluded on September 26, 2015.
