Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce the results of the 2nd Annual “Countryside” Art Competition for October 2012. Artists were asked to submit their best Countryside art with their best interpretation of this theme by depicting rural living, rustic charm, the outdoors and pastoral scenes in their submissions. The submission process and competition for the artists began in the middle of September 2012 and concluded on October 27, 2012. We received 455 entries from 140 artists, from 12 different countries from around the world, including the Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. In addition, we received entries from 34 different states.

Due to the volume of entries we felt that it was necessary to create two (2) media categories, in order to make the judging and the results fair. The media categories are Painting & Other Category and Photography & Digital. In addition, for this particular competition we have an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “Best of the Best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries from the 2 media categories.

Due to the high volume and the outstanding quality of the entries received this month, we will award our normal 1st through 5th places, 5 Honorable Mention awards and then a group of Special Recognition awards for each category mentioned above. The amount of Special Recognition awards is based on the volume and the quality for that particular media category.

Any of the artists in the Special Recognition group could have easily been included in the upper rank of the winning entries in each category, as their art was also exceptional. In addition, most of the artists who were not chosen could have easily received Special Recognition awards, as their artwork was also outstanding. We hope that you will take the time to also enjoy their beautiful art work too. To view the artwork in each media category, click on the thumbnail image and that will take you to the Slide Show, which contains larger images. In order to leave any of the Slide Shows at any time, just click on the large image in order to escape.

All winning entries will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of November 2012 and thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives. Congratulations to our artists who made our 2nd Annual “Countryside” Art Exhibition so successful this month. At any time, we invite our winning artists and other interested visitors to link their websites to the Gallery’s archive page for further ongoing promotion.
